Ghost Tours on tap for HDH Oct. 27
Those who enjoy a tingle down the spine will want to mark Saturday October 27th on their calendars as the Rusk County Heritage Association sponsors their second Ghost Tours of the 1855 Howard-Dickinson House, 501 South Main Street in Henderson.
Tours will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. with tickets sold at the door at $5 adults, $2 students. The darkened house - rumored to be haunted - will be toured by groups of 12 people at a time led by guides.
A DVD made by the East Texas Paranormal Group will be shown to visitors as they wait to tour. The video was shot last year as the group spent a night at the house during an investigation of paranormal happenings.
“The tour is likely to be a little more frightening than was last year’s tour,” said Cyndi Walker, who is chairing the event for the Heritage Association. “We would advise parents to be cautious in bringing young children, as the tour is designed to be appealing to those who enjoy the possibilities of paranormal activity.”
The Heritage Association is charged with upkeep of the historic Howard-Dickinson House and seeks ways to bring funds in to help with maintenance of the house/museum.
Questions about the tours may be directed to the Henderson Area Chamber of Commerce at 903-657-5528.
